| Muti-entry X-visas Issued to American Nationals Who Intend to Study in China | ||

June 17, 2005 According to the aggreement between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China and the Embassy of the United States, from June 20, 2005, the embassies and consulates of the United States will as a general rule and unless otherwise not possible issue multiple entry visas valid for 12 months to the nationals of the People's Republic of China who are otherwise eligible fo receive U.S. temporary visas for academic study (F), for nonacademic study (M), or as exchage visitors (J). The embassies and consulates of the People's Republic of China will issue multiple entry visas valid for 12 months to nationals of the U. S. who are otherwise eligible to receive Chinese student visas for study. The Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in New York will begin to issue mutiple entry X-visas to American nationals who intend to study in China and meet the requirements of X-visas. The regular mult-entry X-visa fee is $150. The Consulate still issue single entry X-visas to American nationals as requested.The regular visa fee is $50. Please be noticed that all X-visa holders shall, within 30 days of entry into China, obtain aliens' residence permission from Public Security Bureau at the place of their residence. Otherwise, aliens may be fined, detained or even ordered to leave the country within a specific time period.
